Resources in Local Indiana Rooms

“Resources in Local Indiana Rooms” will be the May 2 program of the Southern Indiana Genealogical Society (SIGS). Diane Stepro, Genealogy and History Librarian at the Jeffersonville Township Public Library (JTPL) and Melissa Wiseheart, Indiana History Room Librarian at the Floyd County Library will present some unique local resources and explain how those resources can be used to research Southern Indiana families and document First Families ancestors. "First Families of Floyd, Clark, and Harrison Counties" is SIGS’ lineage program for the direct descendants of pre-1841 tri-county settlers. Approved applicants receive First Families certificates and are honored guests at the October “Hoosier History and Heritage Celebration.”

A “meet and mingle” with light refreshments will begin at 6:15 PM with program at 6:30 in the Floyd County Library Applegate Room, 180 W. Spring St., New Albany, Indiana. For more information, please visit sigsweb.org or phone Sue Carpenter at 812-923-9124.
