April Computer Classes at NAFCPL
New Schedule Includes All Beginner Classes for April

In April 2017, the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library is introducing a new schedule for our monthly computer classes. All of our April classes are tailored to the Beginner level, to be followed by Intermediate level classes in May, and Advanced level classes in June. In addition to Beginner classes on ever-popular Microsoft Word and Excel, our April schedule also features a new class on managing digital photos. The public will then have the option to attend Intermediate and Advanced classes on working with digital photos, in May and June. Computer ABC's
Tuesday, April 4, 6:30-8:00 PM
Learn the very basics of computers, from what everything is, to how to turn it on, restart it, and shut it down.

Internet Basics
Thursday, April 6, 6:30-8:00 PM
Take the first steps onto the Internet. Topics include: the difference between the Internet and the Web; searching for things; narrowing searches; and interesting places on the Internet.

Windows 10: An Introduction
Saturday, April 8, 10:00 AM – NOON
Windows 10 is the newest operating system for Microsoft. Learn about all the new features of this long anticipated new system.

Beginner Word
Tuesday, April 11, 6:30-8:00 PM
This is a class for those with little to no experience with Word. You will learn how to create and save documents, how to edit saved documents, how to change your font and text size, and basic formatting.

Beginner Excel
Thursday, April 13, 6:30-8:00 PM
This is a class for those who have little to no experience with Excel. You will learn how Excel works and how to enter data, along with some easy functions, the difference between numbers and text, and terms related to Excel.

Email Basics
Tuesday, April 18, 6:30-8:00 PM
Learn the basics of email. Topics include: creating email messages; creating contacts; sending an attachment; and organizing email.

Managing Digital Photos
Thursday, April 20, 6:30-8:00 PM
For those who would like to learn basic photo editing, this class shows you a free alternative to Photoshop. You will learn basic photo editing skills.

Managing Documents
Tuesday, April 25, 6:30-8:00 PM
Do you need help managing your files? Come learn how to make your life easier with a little organization on your computer.

Intro to Facebook
Thursday, April 27, 6:30-8:00 PM
For those who have just taken the first steps onto Facebook or those who may be interested but are unsure what to do, or what it is about. Come to class and let instructor Roy Chilton tell you what he knows about this social media platform!
