New classes on Cloud Computing and How to Back Up Your Files

In March 2017, the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library’s computer classes feature two new offerings: the benefits of Cloud Computing, and a special workshop on how to effectively back up your data and protect your computer. If you’re newer to using computers and the Internet, our March schedule also includes a class on Internet Basics to get you started, as well as classes on ever-popular Microsoft Word and Excel. Internet Basics

Take the first steps onto the Internet. Topics include: the difference between the Internet and the Web; searching for things; narrowing searches; and interesting places on the Internet.

Microsoft Word Level 1
Tuesday, March 14, 6:30-8:00 PM
Learn the basics of word processing using Microsoft Word. Topics include: creating a new document; editing a saved document; changing the appearance of text; and copy and paste.

Microsoft Word Level 2
Thursday, March 16, 6:30-8:00 PM
Build on the skills you learned in Microsoft Word Level 1. Topics include: indents; tab spacing; margins; line spacing; search and replace; and replacing text.

Microsoft Excel Level 1
Tuesday, March 21, 6:30-8:00 PM
Learn the basics of Microsoft Excel. Topics include: rows, columns, cells, and cell addressing; text vs. numbers; entering formulas; relative vs. absolute cell addressing; and functions.

Microsoft Excel Level 2

Build on the skills you learned in Microsoft Excel Level 1. Topics include: range names vs. absolute cell addressing; using a lookup table; and using the IF function.

Backup Workshop
